Stamna

Stamna (Greek: Σταμνά) is a village in the municipality of Aitoliko in the southern part of the prefecture of Aetolia-Acarnania It is located north of the bay and E and S of the Acheloos River. It is located NW of Messolonghi, N of Aitoliko, E of Astakos, SSW of Agrinio and W of Greece Interstate 5/E55 linking Ioannina and the new Rio-Antirio bridge.

The village has a school, a church and a square (plateia). The village is located in a hill setting and is on a forested setting. Its beach is located southeast. It was connected by rail and had a train station until the 1980s when the line connecting up to Ioannina closed down.

The father of Nikos Aliagas, ? Aliagas was born in Stamna in 1926, he emigrated to France in the mid-20th century.
