Tik, means to erect. Its a dance which originated in the region of Pontos, current day Turkey. This dance is the basis of about 90 percent of all Pontian dances (Etere, Kalon korits, Atsapat, Aneforitsa, tik monon, Tsourtougousous, Tiki, T'apan kai ka, Apo pan kai ka, etc...). It consists of 4- 1,2,3's and a forward 2,3. The "Big dip little dip" is the over all movement of the dance. Its danced hand in hand, and travels to the right. It is almost always played for long periods of time after the dance Dipat or Omal and often is concluded with Tromakton, Tonyalidikon, or Moskof.
