Gennaios Kolokotronis

Gennaios Kolokotronis (Greek: Ιωάννης Γενναίος Κολοκοτρώνης ) (1803 - 1868) was baptized Ioannis Kolokotronis in Stemnitsa, Arcadia. He was the son of Theodoros Kolokotronis, a hero of the 1821 war. He acquired the name "Gennaios" (Greek - "brave") during the Greek War of Independence in which he fought valiantly despite his youth. Kolokotronis served as the last Prime Minister under King Otto whom he had previously served for two decades as aide-de-camp. He died in 1868.
