Georgios Hatzanestis (Greek: Γεώργιος Χατζανέστης) was a Greek general. He was commander-in-chief of the Greek army that fought against the Turkish forces in the Greco-Turkish War, from May 1922 to the end of the fighting in September 1922. He was tried in a military tribunal and sentenced to death for high treason in November 1922, in the "Trial of the Six" that was widely criticised by a big part of the Greek society and many Greek politicians at the time for being a trial to find scapegoats for the Greek disaster in Asia Minor.
