Greek legislative election, 1952

Politics and government of Greece

The Greek legislative election of 16 November 1952 resulted in victory for General Alexander Papagos and the party he had founded a year ago, the Greek Rally party.

Papagos manage to unify most of the conservative forces under his leadership and he took advantage of a weakened centre.

The electorate of the People's Party of Konstantinos Tsaldaris, the main conservative party until then, shrunk in just 1%.
