Andreas Syngros

Andrea Syngrou Avenue is a main road linking with Poseidonos Avenue superhighway and near the east of Athens. The avenue is named after Andreas Syngros. The avenue for the most part runs from southwest to northeast. The speed limit is around 60 km/h in the western part. The Syngrou-Fix station of the Attiko Metro's Red Line is situated at the northeastern end of the avenue. The avenue also has shops and stores mainly 4 to 8 storey buildings by its one-way service road of the same avenue name. The avenue also runs on most of the historic road linking the old road linking Athens and Phaleron.

The avenue passes between the municipalities of Palaio Faliro, Kallithea and Nea Smyrni as well as Athens, and has about four to five interchanges. Streetcar routes runs in the northeastern section of the avenue.

The Avenue was extended to six lanes in the mid-20th century. It consisted of several intersections. In the 1970s, an interchange was under construction and became linked with the superhighway offering easy access between Piraeus and Athens as well as Kifissia. Later, an interchange between another road and Kalliroi Avenue which links with Kifissias Avenue. In 1994, an interchange with an avenue 1 km northeast of Poseidonos Avenue which provides access to Athens at 40 km/h was shut down for a while and constructed an interchange and was first opened in 1995, between 1997 and 1999, three more interchanges opened, two providing one-direction interchanges and the other provided also one-direction interchange with one underground interchange and connected with the Kalliroi junction and removed intersections with traffic lights which prior to the opening had one except for the northeast sector. The Attiko station Syngrou-Fix was also under construction until the early-2000s.
