Hellenistische Kunst: Die Tauben von Sosos

Roman Copy of a Mosaic produced for the Emperor Hadrian for his Villa of an original work from the second Century BC by Sosos from Pergamon. The work is mentioned by Pliny the Elder. Pliny says that the original showed the mirrored image of the drinking bird from the water surface.
