Agamede

Agamede (c. 12th century BC) was a Greek physician. According to Homer, Agamede lived before the Trojan War. She was born in Elis and was the daughter of Augeas, King of the Epeans. Although her biography is entertwined with myth, she may have been a specific woman with knowledge of the medicinal properties of plants.

She was married to Mulius, who was killed, by Nestor, during a war between Elis and Pylos. Later she bore Poseidon a son, Dictys.
