From left to right, Agamemnon, Talthybius and Epeus, identified by inscriptions in Ionian script ("Agamemnon" is written in retrograde script). Fragment of a relief, maybe the armrest from the throne of a cult statue. May represent Agamemnon's initiation to the Samothracaen mystery cult. Marble, Greek archaic artwork, ca. 560 BC. From Samothrace.
Français : De gauche à droite : Agamemnon, Talthybios et Épéios, identifiés par des inscriptions en alphabet ionien (« Agamemnon » figure en écriture rétrograde). Fragment de bas-relief, peut-être l'accoudoir du trône d'une statue de culte ; représenterait l'initiation d'Agamemnon au culte des Cabires à Samothrace. Marbre, œuvre grecque archaïque, vers 560 av. J.-C. Provenance : Samothrace.
