Helen and Menelaus, Louvre G424

Description: Menelaus regains Helen, detail of an Attic red-figure crater, ca. 450 BC–440 BC, found in Gnathia (now Egnazia, Italy). Menelaus initially angry tries to kill Helen who tries to escape but her beauty makes him change his opinion (the small flying Eros helps Helen). He drops his sword .
