Zeuxippe


In Greek mythology, Zeuxippe was the name of several women.

  1. Zeuxippe was the mother of Eribotes and Butes by Teleon. She was the daughter of the river Eridanos.
  2. Zeuxippe was the mother of Erechtheus, Butes, Procne and Philomela by Pandion. She was the sister of Praxithea.
  3. Zeuxippe was the daughter of Lamedon and Pheno, and with her husband Sicyon was the mother of Chthonophyle.
  4. Zeuxippe was the daughter of Hippocoon and the mother of Oicles and Amphalces with Antiphates.

Pausanias 2.6.5:

When Lamedon became king he took to wife an Athenian woman, Pheno, the daughter of Clytius. Afterwards also, when war had arisen between him and Archander and Architeles, the sons of Achaeus, he brought in as his ally Sicyon from Attica, and gave him Zeuxippe his daughter to wife.
