Dimitris Diamantidis (Greek: Δημήτρης Διαμαντίδης) (born May 6, 1980 in Kastoria, Greece) is a Greek basketball player. The player from Kastoria started his career with his home team in 1994 and stayed there for 5 years. In the summer of 1999 he was transferred to Iraklis and was a starter in his second season. He made a big step in his career with his move to Panathinaikos BC. He is a member of the national team. With Panathinaikos he has won the Greek Championship twice, the Greek Cup and the Euroleague.


Having won several individual trophies, such as the Euroleague best defender (2005, 2006, 2007), the Greek Championship MVP award (2004, 2006), and the Euroleague Final Four MVP award (2007), as well as the European Basketball Championship in 2005 with the Greek national team. He is also a member of the Greek national team which won the silver medal in the 2006 FIBA World Championship in Japan.

Due to the fact that his personal entity is behind of such successes, the president of Panathinaikos has closed the player until 2010 with an annual fee of nearly $1.7 millions per year.


Diamantidis's nickname is the Octopus Man.
