Ptolemy (Ptolemaios) I Soter “Savior” (Πτολεμαίος Ι Σωτήρ) (367?-283/2 BC)(323 ruler since 306/4 as king - 283/2 BC) born c. 367 BC?, married Eurydice, then Berenice I. Ptolemy Soter had the idea of the Pharos of Alexandria which was completed by Ptolemy Philadelphus. Ptolemy I asked Euclid if there is a fast method to learn geometry. Euclid's response: There is no royal road to geometry.
