Periphetes

In Greek mythology, Periphetes (gr. Περιφήτης), also known as Corynetes or the Club-Bearer, was a son of Hephaestus and Anticleia. Like his father, he was lame in one leg. He lived in Epidauros, where he robbed travellers and killed them with his iron club. Theseus killed him and afterwards used the club as his own weapon. He was mentioned in Apollodorus 3.15.8, Pausanias 2.1.4 and Ov. Met. vii. 437)

Periphetes was also a Trojan, who was slain by Teucer. (Hom. Il. xiv. 515.)

Periphetes was also a son of Copreus of Mycenae, killed at Troy by Hector. (Hom. Il. xv. 638.)
