Paphos Mosaics

Poseidon, Eros and Amymone, House of Dionysus, Paphos., 3rd c. AD

Poseidon is shown probably after he saved Amymone from a Satyr who attacked her. The Hydria probably is a symbol of the water which Amymone tried to find. Eros symbolizes the love between Amymone ans Poseidon. Eros in one hand has a rectangular umbrella.
