The limestone block bears an inscription in Cypro-syllabic script:
Phauthemis(s) tai kasi
gnitai Phausago(ra)tiwi
eme (?) katetheke

The Cypro-syllabic script is known to have been used extensively from
an early phase in the Archaic period until the 3rd c, BC, when it was replaced by the Greek alphabet.
