In the entrance is the church Agios Nikolaos Marmaritis (St Nikolaos), Marmarits is derived from the greek word for Marble , used to build the church on a place of an ancient temple.

Festivals

Feast of Saint Averkios each year 22 October in honour of Saint Averkios (or Abercius) a bishop in Hierapolis Phrygia in the second century AD.

He is considered a protector of wine (during an Apollo festival he destroyed the sculptures of the Greek gods claiming "that the gods, becoming drunk from the wine of the libations offered them, had struck one against another in their confusion")
