Monastery Faneromenis near the sea is NW of the village Engares (Drymalia) and W of the village Keramoti. The monastery is c. 10 km N of Chora in Naxos on the road to Apollonas. The monastery was founded in the 14th century. The most significant period of the monastery was the 19th century.
Faneromeni is used to name monasteries in places where some icon was discovered (revealed , fanerothke) in some unexpected position.
