Herakles (Hercules)

Herakles (Hercules), the son of Zeus and Alkmene (the wife of Amphitryon) and brother of Iphicles. Herakles and his “Pillars” in Gibraltar. He placed two Pillars one in Gibraltar and one in Ceuta (a Spanish exclave in Morocco), the so-called Pillars of Herakles, marking the boundaries of the Atlantic Ocean from the Mediterranean Sea.
