Anthesteria, Oinochoe

: Attic red-figure Oinoche (wine jug) used for the Athenian festival of Anthesteria, in honour of Dionysos. Represents a young boy pulling another boy's chariot; maybe a parody of the hierogamy performed during the festival. Terracotta, ca. 430–/390 BC. Location: Louvre, Department of Greek, Etruscan and Roman Antiquities (L71)
