Symbolaeon (συμβόλαιον), Synallagma (συνάλλαγμα) and Syntheke (συνθήκη).
Words all denoting a contract, but with different ideas attached to each. The first denotes bargains between private persons; the second denotes any matter arranged between two individuals, whether it is a contract or not; the third means a solemn and important engagement, such as treaties and agreements between kings and States.
