Eleni Skoura (21.12.1896- 4.2.1991) was the first Greek woman elected for the Greek Parliament (Vouli ton Ellinon) as a candidate for the Thessaloniki prefecture in the year 1953. With Virginia Zanna she was the first woman candidate in Greek history.

Lina Tsaldari was the first woman in Greece as a member of the goverment as Minister of Social Affairs and Health (1956-1958)

In the year 1887-88: the newspaper "Ladies Newspaper" asks for Voting rights for women" , in 1934 for the first time only 240 women use their right.
