Christos Dantis (born Christos Vlahakis, 26 September 1966), is a popular Greek singer and musician.

Early Music Career

Christos Dantis began playing music when he was 16 going through various bands and playing various music kinds such as rock, funk, metal etc. Four years went by until his first contract with the music company which released the Turn on and Belly Dance maxi singles. During the same time he was singing at the popular club TABOO with Dimitra Galani and George Hatzinasios.

In the following three years while continuing to appear in several music scenes, he participates in "10 Tens No 2" with two songs. The songs he sang were Push Ups with Polina.


1990-2000: Growing Popularity

Christos later releases his first personal album called Dahtilika Apotypomata in 1990 with music and lyrics written by Gianni Karali which becomes platinum.

In 1991 he releases the golden album Aman which is also released in 4 European countries with remixes. At the same time the video clips from the album are played on MTV and MCM accompanied by a TV special offering live performances and an interview with Steve Blame the presenter of MTV.

The first experimentations Christos Dantis did with folk songs was in 1993 with the album Ala. 1 year later Christos releases his most familiar pop-rock album to date, which is the album 4. The album becomes gold and the song Kapoios s’ agapaei appears on MTV once more.

Working harder than ever, Christos releases another album just 1 year latter in 1995 called "Tama". The album becomes gold. Following his gold success, Chistos decides to release yet another album in 1996 called Foni Voodos and comes back in 1997 with the album Giousoufakia.

Not wanting to disappoint his growing fan base, Chistos releases a double album titled Tournas – Dantis Live or known by some as Krifo sholeio. The live recordings were taken from his concerts that year with Kostas Tournas.

Striving for the best Christos began work on his next album immediately. It took just 11 months of preparations in studio for his next album To Palio mou Palto was released in 1999. The album immediately becomes gold.


2000-2006: Further Success

Few months later, he redid the song 24000 Baci by Adriano Celentano for the movie Safe Sex created by Repas and Papathanasiou which is included in the movie soundtrack. The song reached the top of the charts after just a couple of days of release.

In 2001 the album To Domatio wass released which soon becomes platinum and the songs To Domatio, Dos mou Fotia and his duet with Notis Sfakianakis Himonas inai become hits.

After a 2 year break, Christos returns in May 2003 with the album Ena tragoudi akoma with Giorgo Theofanous as the composer. The album is a great success, growing his popularity even higher. In 2004 he participates in Greek talent show Fame Story as a member of the committee.

In May 2004 he releases one of his most successful album to date Maya Maya. Besides himself music and lyrics are written by Vangelis Konstantinidis, Vassilis Giannopoulos, Sofie Pappa, Natalia Germanou, Manos Psaltakis, Christoforos Germenis, Konstantinos Pantzis, Giannis Liondos, and Antonis Skokos. In the winter 2004-05 he appears at club Fix with Christos Pazis.

In 2005 his song he composed the song My number one. The music was written by him and lyrics by Natalia Germanou. It is chosen as Greece’s official participation in the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev, Ukraine to be sang be Elena Paparizou on May 21 2005. The song wins the contest getting the first position. Greece gets first position for the first time in the history of the song contest, and the song becomes very popular, sky rocketing Elena Paparizou to new heights as well as the writer Christos Dantis.

In May 2005 Christos Dantis writes the album Eho sta matia ourano for Keti Garbi and the songs Akouse agori mou, To narkotiko mou as well as his duet Spaciba baby immediately become hits.

In June of the same year he signs the music of Flora’s Theodorou first single titles Giatre mou!!!. The single includes 3 songs, music by Christos Dantis and lyrics by Vassilis Giannopoulos and Natalia Germanou.

He cooperates with NOVA’s satellite platform and writes the Ola super song with lyrics by Vangelis Konstantinidis which will be the musical pattern for 9 sports channels.

In September 2005 he is in Thessaloniki with Keti Garbi for a limited number of appearances. Following that, in 2005 he releases his new personal album Prodosia in October 2005. The songs Beautiful, Ola Super, and Prodosia become instant hits.

In the spring of 2006, Christos releases his new CD Single called “Gia Sena Bora”. It is accompanied by a full length album in the fall of 2006 called “Min Pis Pote”.

In January 2007, ERT has asked Christos to take part in a National Selection show as a singer to represent Greece in 2007.
