Marinos Ouzounidis

Marinos Ouzounidis (born on October 10, 1968) is a Greek soccer player who played for Greek club Skoda Xanthi as a defender from 1987 until 1992. Marinos Ouzounidis then transferred to Panathinaikos before making a stop in Havre in France and returning to the Greek league in 1999-2001, where he played with Paniliakos. Ouzounidis left for APOEL FC in Cyprus and retired there after the 2003 season. Ouzounidis is a former Greece international who participated in Greece's only World Cup appearance in 1994.

When he finished his career as a football player, Marinos Ouzounidis managed the team of Kapadokes Alexandoupolis (4th division) as the head coach. He later took a position for the 2005-2006 season as an assistant manager in Xanthi. In May 2006, he has taken the position of manager at APOEL FC.


However, his iron will and determination seemed to be coming through near the end of the 2004-2005 season, when he made his first Greek National A Division appearence after 3 years. He stated that he was healthy again and that it was up to his coach, Trond Sollied to play him now.
