Nea Charavgi

Nea Charavgi (Νέα Χαραυγή ) is a Municipal Department of the city of Kozani. It is located 5 km east of the center of Kozani, near the Municipal Park Kouri. The population of Nea Charavgi was 1209 in 2001.

The village was formed after Lignite was found in the old village which is used for the production of electricity.

The village was known as Tzoumas until 1920, then until 1960 it was called Amygdala when it was renamed toi Charavgi (greek word for "Daybreak").

From the 80s after the village was founded in the current position it is called Nea Charavgi
