Asimakis Fotilas (gr. Ασημάκης Φωτήλας ) (1761 Kalavryta - 1835 Kalavryta) was a notable person (Prokritos, gr. πρόκριτος ) of Kalavryta who participated in the Greek war for Independence of 1821. In January 1821 he participated in the council of Vostitsa (Aigion) and in March 1821 in the council in Saint Lavra, where he supported the idea for direct action against the Turks. He was a vice-president of the Peloponnesian Senate and chairman of the Parliament in 1822. In 1824 he was a member of the government of G. Kountouriotis, resigned however after a short period and became a political opponent. Finally during the period of King Otto he was appointed general.
