Miltiadis Evert

Miltiadis Evert (Greek: ; born May 12, 1939 in Athens, Greece) is a Greek politician and former chairman of the New Democracy party from 1993 until 1997. Evert also served as the mayor of Athens from January 1, 1987 to May 14, 1989. He is married to photographer Lisa Vanderpool and has two daughters.

As the Athenian mayor in 1987, Evert was the first to exercise the legal possibility of opposition radio broadcasting in Greece since all radio stations (including television networks) were a state monopoly. He helped launch Athena 98.4 FM, the first private radio station to begin broadcasting legally in Greece.
