Antonios Katinaris

Antonios Katinaris (Αντώνης Κατινάρης ) was born in Chania Crete, first son of a refugee’s family from Asia Minor . Since his early years, almost adolescent, he demonstrated his interest and his talent in music. At the age of 16 he was already a music professional. His virtuoso bouzouki-playing made him famous in the popular music stages of Chania. In the decade the ' 60 he went up to Athens , where he made his big jump into the Greek ' popular musical scene as a composer. The song "What can you do, with only one heart" (Ti na sou kanei mia kardia), in verses Eftichia Papagiannopoulou signaled the start of his national career.

Private Life

Antonios Katinaris was married to Maria Rippi, herself a singer and member of a famous musicians family. He has three daughters, from which one Maria Katinari is continuing his music work as a singer and songtextwriter.
