Pyrgos Style

Pyrgos Style is the Style of Pottery of the Prepalatial Period in Crete.

A characteristic of this early Minoan style is the grey or black surface with a plain gaze.The style is named after the place of Pyrgos (Myrtos) in East Crete where such pottery was found. Chalices were a popular shape of this style.
