Anagennisi Karditsa (Greek: Αναγέννηση Καρδίτσας) is a Greek association football club based in the city of Karditsa, Greece. The club currently competes in Gamma Ethniki North, Greece's third-tier football league. History The club was formed in 1904 in the southwestern Thessalian city of Karditsa as the football department of the multisport club ASA (Greek: Αθλητικός Σύλλογος Αναγέννησης - Athlitikos Syllogos Anagennisis), the Anagennisi Athletic Association. The name of the club, Anagennisi, comes from the Greek word for Rebirth. When the Greek football league became professional in 1979, the football department of ASA was reformed as a Football Public Limited Company, or PAE (Greek: ΠΑΕ - Ποδοσφαιρική Ανώνυμη Εταιρία - Podosferiki Anonymi Eteria) and continued to compete as PAE Anagennisi Karditsas, FC Anagennisi of Karditsa. Stadium Anagennisi Karditsa currently plays its home games at the Ethniko Stadion, located in the eastern part of Karditsa.
