Michata (Greek: Μιχάτα) is a village located 13 km ESE of Argostoli and about 43 or 38 km W of Poros in the community of Omali on the island of Kefalonia. Michanata is linked with a small road linking with the Travliata-Fragkata Road and Epanochori to the Argostoli-Poros Road. The area has a small plain to the west and mountains dominating the east and the south. The eastern part are heavily forsted with pines, spruces, and other types of trees, the leafy trees dominates the south, farmlands are in valley areas. The Omalon hills cover the area further west. Much of the population are rural and the main economy is based on agriculture with business relating to restaurants, education and bars. The income is in the middle range. Much of the population from the mid-20th century left for larger towns and mainly cities. The 1953 Ionian Earthquake destroyed every building in Troianata that took months to rebuilt. The entire population that time as well as other parts of the island were homeless and part of the population left Troianata. The following years, Michata became linked with pavement in mid-2002.
