Paliouria, Grevena


Paliouria is a community of Grevena, part of the Deskati municipality. The population , mainly farmers, of the community was 412 in the year 2001. Paliouria is 50 km from the city of Grevena and 15 km from Deskati.

Paliouria, called Zimniatsi before 1928 was formed in the Ottoman period from 9 settlements.

In 1918 it was a settlement of the community of Karperos.

Around and in Paliouria there are various churches: 500 m NE the church of Agia Triada, 1km SE the churches of Agios Georgios and Agia Paraskevi, 1.5 km W the church of Agia Kyriaki. In Paliouria is the church of Zoodochos Pigis.
