The municipality of Prosotsani is located in the western part of the Prefecture of Drama. A local attraction is the cave at the source of the Angitis River, located at the village of Angitis in the municipal district of Kokkinogeia.

Persons Mikropolis Mikropolis (older name Karlikova). It was founded by Slavs. The village is 29 km from Drama and 50 km from the border to Bulgaria. Before the world war its population was 3 to 4 times larger than today. In 1961 it was c. 2600. In the past the village was divided in two parts: Epano- und Kato Machalas. In the Epano Machalas there were mainly villagers from families which lived a long time in the village while the Kato Machalas was formed by refugees from Minor Asia. The relation between the two groups was not friendly in the past . There were two schools, two football clubs, etc. Now as time passed and there was some mixing of the groups by marriages the division is only historical.
