Zalongo (Ζάλογγο) is a municipality in the Preveza Prefecture, Greece. Population 5043 (2001). The seat of the municipality is in Kanali. (or Kanalion)
Zalongo is famous from the Hill of Zalongo where Souliotes women decided to die and not to be slaves of Ali Pasha, throwing their children down the hill, dancing , singing "in the desert no flower survives like the Souliotes without freedom", and then jumping to death.
