Afantou or Afandou (Greek: Αφάντου) is a municipality on the island of Rhodes, in the Dodecanese, Greece. Population 6712 (in 2001). It is situated in the east coast of Rhodes just after Faliraki resort and contains the town of Afantou (municipality seat), the picturesque village of Archipoli and the Kolympia resort. The municipality also hosts the only golf course of the island, the Afantou-Golf, which is next to one of the longest beaches on the island. From a total population of 6,712 (2001 census) 5,494 reside in Afantou . The only other villages are Archípoli (pop. 779) and Kolýmpia (439). The municipality has a land area of 46.100 km²
