The small island Schinoussa () belongs to the Naxos province, part of the Cyclades prefecture of the South Aegean periphery of Greece. The two main places are theport Mirsini and Schinoussa (Chora) in the center of the island. The population , mainly farmer and fisher, is less than 200. Some of the beaches are Almyros, Kiouliou, Livadi, Mirsini, Psili Ammos. In 2006 a large collection of antiquities were discovered by the Greek authorities on the island . These items from prehistory to the byzantine period included an entire temple in parts inside a container used for illegal art trade.
