Mavrolithari Mavrolithari is a mountain village (altitude c. 1160 m) between the mountains/hills Gkiona, Vardousia and Oiti. Athanasios Diakos Athanasios Diakos is a village named after the Hero Athanasios Diakos of the war for independece that started in 1821 Kastriotissa Kastrotissa is a mountain village (altitude c. 1250 m), named after the ruins of a nearby ancient castle / fortification (gr. Kastro). Mousounitsa Mousounitsa is a mountain villa (alt. c. 900 m) Panourgias The mountain village Panourgias was named after a hero of the Greek war for independece. It was called before Dremissa. Pyra Pyra is a mountain village on a side of the mountain Oeta. Pyra which means fire was named after a story of Greek mythology. It was in Oeta where Heracles died in a fire.
