Mouzaki Municipality

Mouzaki (Greek: ) is a village with a population 2190 , seat of the synonymous municipality in the Karditsa Prefecture, Greece. Mouzaki is one of the most populated municipalities in the prefecture. Mouzaki is located 50 km from Anthiro, 75 km northeast frokm Vragkiana, 34 km from Petrilo and 28 km west of Karditsa. It is also located 20 km from Trikala and 180 km east of Arta. Mouzaki is linked with the GR-30 (Arta - Karditsa).

Mouzaki is situated by the Pamisos river in which it empties into the Pineios. All of its buildings are newly built. Its residents are based in agriculture.

Mouzaki

Mouzaki (alt. 180 m) is built near the Itamos mountain. Mouzaki is c. 28 km from Karditsa, 20 km from Trikala and 180 km from Arta.

Mouzaki was destoyed by Italians in the year 1943 and only a few traditional houses remained .

Gelanthi

Gelanthi is a village 23 km NW of Karditsa. It is first mentioned in a written report from 7.1.1810. Until the liberation of Thessaly in 1881 almost nothing is known. From 1881 to 8.8.1921 it was owned by Christakis N. Zografos. Then the land was sold to the villagers, who had to pay each 4991.7 drachmae to the family of Zografos.

Trygona

Trygona or Trigona is a village 36 km from Karditsa.

Oxya

Oxya is a mountain village (altitude 900 m) 56 km from Karditsa. It is on the north side of Mount Karavas (2184 m) surrounded by other peaks Malias (1970m), Voutsikaki (2154 m), Ai-Lia (or Profitis Ilias 1758m). It was called in the past Siam a short version of Siamos. In 1930 it was renamed after a forrest of beech (gr. oxya) trees in the SE of the village. The village was founded probably in the period 1393/1422. In 1770 Saint Kosmas o Aitolos visited the village.
