Municipality Nea Ionia

Nea Ionia (Greek: ,New Ionia) is a municipality part of the Magnesia prefecture, and a municipality bordering the city of Volos. Its land area is 63.314 km².
The name is in Memory of Ionia in Minor Asia when after the Minor Asia catastrophical event Greeks who lived for more than 2500 years in many Ionian cities were forced 1922 to leave the region.
