Eurycratides was a King of Sparta from the Agiad dynasty,reigning ca. 615- ca. 590 BC, being the 13th of that line. His name is derived from the Greek "eury",meaning "wide". He reigned in the earlier and most devastating period of the war with Tegea (see:Herod, i. 65).
