Artemisia, Kalamata

Artemisia is a small village in Greece part of the municipality of Kalamata. The population was 291 in 2001. It was called in the past Tsernitsa or Tsernitza.

Artemisia is on a west side of Taygetus,

It is one of the five villages of the former municipality of Alagonia (Alagonia, Artemisia, Karveli, Ladas, Nedousa and Piges)

In the antiquity the region was known as Dentheliatis with a temple of Artemis (Limnae) .
