Ladas, Kalamata

Lada is a small village in Greece part of the municipality of Kalamata. It is located on Taygetos, and is one of the six villages which make up Alagonia. The population was 210 in 2001. The village was named for an athlete, Ladas of Argos (Λάδας), winner of the dolichos at 460 BC . His grave was in the regios according to Pausanias.

Ladas was a village of the old municipality of Alagonia, known as Koutsava Lada. It was later an independent community until it was part of the municipal district of Ladas of the municipality of Kalamata.
