Sidirokastro, Serres

Sidirokastro ( ) is a municipality in Serres prefecture . The city of Sidirokastro (turkish: Demir Isar) has a population of 5711 (2001), the municipality which includes Vamvakofyto, Hortero, Kamaroto, Haropo and Strymonochori has a total population of 10.598 (2001)

Chortero

Chortero is a small village, although with a population of 656 (mainly farmers) in the year 2001 it has a football (soccer) team Elpis Chorterou . The name Elpis means "hope", as it is in the lowest division there is some hope allways for improvements and more success Website (greek)
