Apellas, (fl . 400 BC) a sculptor, priduced bronze statues of worshipping females (adorantes feminas) Pliny, xxxiv. 19. § 26).
He made the statue of Cynisca, who conquered in the chariot race at Olympia. (Paus. vi. 1. § 2.) . His name indicates his Doric origin.
