Arete of Cyrene (Αρετή Κυρηνεία ) (4th - 3rd century BC) was the daughter of Aristippus of Cyrene, philosopher and mother and teacher of Aristippus the younger (Aristippus metrodidaktos).

She learned philosophy from her father Aristippus. Arete studied in Plato's academy according to J. Morans book "woman in Science", Cambridge 1913.

She is mentioned by Diogenes Laertius and Aelianus. Although she was an author of many books, all lost.
