Ypati
Ypati is a city (actually a village) 21 km W of Lamia. It is named after the ancient city Ypata mentioned by Aristotle. In the Byzantine period Ypata was known as Neai Patrai. After the conquer by Catalans, Francs and Serbs it was part of the Ottoman Empire. The Turks called the place Patratziki. Ypati is called "martyr city" after the destruction by the Germans in 1944.
Loutra Ypatis
Loutra Ypatis (Loutra gr. for bath) is a village known for the thermal baths used for medical treatments. The village is c. 17 km from Lamia.
Pyrgos Ypatis
Pyrgos (Πύργος) is a village 45 km from Lamia. Official the population was 254 in the year 2001. More come during the summer, while in the winter only a fraction remain in Pyrgos.
