Anaktorio (Greek: ) is a municipality in Aetolia-Acarnania, Greece. It was named after the ancient city of Anaktorio founded by Corinthians around 630 BC which was near the small town Vonitsa , the seat of the municipality

Thyrion is a small village of Anaktorio. Thyrion is named after the ancient city of Thyrion (or Thyrreion or Thourion) near the village. It was one if not the greatest cities in Acarnania, with walls of 9914 m length.
