Artemis, Artemida (Greek, Modern: Αρτεμίδα, Ancient/Katharevousa: -str) or Loutsa (Greek: Λούτσα) is a suburban town in east Attica, approximately 25 km east of Athens, S of Rafina, NE of the Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport, E of the Attiki Odos (numbers 6 and 65) and N of Lavrio. Loutsa is an arvanitic name of a region with a lot water. The population were rural until the 1980s and the 1990s, the population became urban as suburban housing popped up around the Artemis' coastline. Housing developments continues to this day and some are sporadically with farmlands or empty land. Loutsa is situated in a plain setting with mountains that are covered with forests to the northwest and another deforested rocky mountain to the south. Farmlsetting filled with grasslands, some pine forests, rocks and groves and some farmlands. The street system is gridded in a couple of angles aligning within the sea along with residential houses. The forests which includes pine, spruce and others, along with forests roads are to the northwest and hovers most of the north coast. The July 29 forest fire consumed only the northwestern part but did not threat the town. The Petalies Gulf lies to the east.
Artemis or Loutsa is famous for its beach strectching most of the east coast except for some parts as well as hotels, bars, restaurants and local taverns. Other Loutsa has schools, lyceums, gymnasia, banks, churches, a post office, beaches and squares (plateies).
