Palaia Fokaia (Greek: Πάλαια Φώκαια meaning Old Phocaea), also Palea Fokea or Palia Phocea is a community and a suburban town in southeastern Attica. Palaia Fokaia is located approximately 40 km SE of Athens, S of the Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport and the Attiki Odos (numbers 6 and 62) and NW of Cape Sounio and south of the Hymettus Ring. Voula is linked with Souniou Avenue (GR-89) and is the southernmost of the 4-lane highway and is also served with another road northeast to Kalyvia Thorikou and Keratea.

The mountains cover the eastern part of the municipality consisting of rocks and grasslands, forests lie to the east and some to the north, the rest of the area are covered with farmlands including one further northwest and residential buildings. Tourism and businesses are the most popular industry in Palaia Fokaia after shifting from rural. Rocky seashore dominates the southern part. The area is almost slopey except for the northwest which is mainly flat.

The town has restaurants, shops, bars and taverns within the beach and the main highway. Trees surround the coastline from the junction down to the eastern part. A park in a shape of almost a triangle is in the centre of the area and a beach lies to the west and an amusement park used mainly in the weekends lies to the northwest. Municipally it includes the rocky terrain which dominates as far south as west of Sounio and are made up of rocky mountains and includes the small rocky ande deforested unhabited island of Patroklos (Νήσι Πατρόκλου, Nisi Patroklou)

The population were rural until the 1960s suburban housing popped up in the 1980s and the 1990s which most of the population are urban. Farmlands used to dominate the northern part and within the Saronic. Later, Palaia Fokaia became part of the Athens Metropolitan Area. In the mid to late 20th century, another 2 lanes were added to the seashore highway and ended near the centre of Palaia Fokaia. Hotels also cover the coastline.
